NEWSFuture TAG Meetings Members at the Annual General Meeting held on 25th November 2003 attending agreed to hold a general meeting for all Governors on a bi-monthly basis. COULD YOU ENCOURAGE MEMBERS OF YOUR GOVERNING BODY TO COME ALONG TO THAT MEETING WHICH WILL BE IN THE CIVIC OFFICES AT 7-00PM?
Meetings Calendar - 12th SEPTEMBER, 10th OCTOBER (OPEN MEETIING FOR ALL GOVERNORS), 7th NOVEMBER. The AGM will be held on 29th November at 6-30 pm The first meeting
of the new executive has been fixed for 12th December. Governor TrainingIt is good tro see so many colleagues attending training particularly Induction Training for new Governors. However, it is of concern that some colleagues book to attend courses and then do not attend, often with no explanation given. This can lead to the cancellation of courses at short notice. We have had an excellent training programme which we would not wish to lose. It is important to realise OFSTED are placing increasing importance on Governor's knowledge and training, particularly with regard to whether they have participated. If inspectors note that Governor's lack knowledge or have not attended courses, particularly in the areas of Finance Budgetary Planning and Assessment Management, there is a risk of the school receiving a critical report. PLEASE SUPPORT THE TRAINING PROGRAMME AND ENCOURAGE YOUR FELLOW GOVERNORS TO DO THE SAME. TAG NewsSee T.A.G. Newsletter "The Thurrock Governor" |
