INTRODUCTION

What does T.A.G. aim to do?

• TAG aims to help governing bodies to further the interests of children in our schools by:
  • Providing a collective voice for governors both locally in relation to the LEA and nationally through the National Governor’s Council by

  • making representations and responding to consultations;

  • Sharing and Consulting on issues of commmon concern and
    Offering Guidance as appropriate;

  • DDisseminating the national experience of governing bodies and
    Governor associations;

  • Encouraging governing bodies and individual governors to share experiences and concerns.

   

The Way TAG operates

• Go.htmverning bodies are represented by the election each year of an Executive Committee whose members represent the primary, secondary, and further education sectors.
• T.A.G. aims to hold at least two public meetings each year in addition to the Annual General Meeting held each November.
• The officers of the Association are also elected at this meeting and two members are T.A.G.’s representatives on the National Governors Council.
• The Executive meets on nine occasions during the year. Any urgent matters are discussed at special meetings of T.A.G.
