Rape Crisis: Regional Network EastWelcome to the Eastern Region
The East Region of Rape Crisis is currently represented by SERICC on the umbrella body of Rape Crisis England and Wales. Regional representatives act as a contact point for local centres in their region, relaying information from the centres to the umbrella body and vice versa. Regional meetings are held at least four times a year and ensure that the voice of rape crisis is heard at regional and national level. In the East Region, Rape Crisis has received positive support and resources from Government Office East: "Sexual violence has a significant impact on the health and well-being of victims affected by this crime. For women in particular it is the crime they fear most. The Government is committed to reducing sexual violence, bringing offenders to justice, and ensuring that victims receive the support they deserve. GO East is pleased to be able to support National Rape Crisis in the East to build these essential services, so that everyone can access the support they need regardless of where they live in our region." - Gaynor Mears M.A., Domestic Violence & Sexual Crime Lead, Safer Communities Team, GO East
The Eastern Region network is made up of the following local authority areas:
