The Tilbury Riverside Project has been working for four years with the PORT Scheme as well as the private and public sector to improve the riverfronts and surrounding areas in Tilbury. The project has helped Tilbury to develop its Christmas lights display, and has worked with the Community Development Officer and local businessman Charles White to provide a lively Christmas Festival.

In 1999/2000 the project secured National Lottery funds, which have been used to assist with community capacity building, and training, enabling local applicants to apply for funds for college training and purchasing equipment to start work.

The Tilbury Riverside Project has won many awards of recognition in recent years. These include Small Business Club achievements and a River Thames Society Award for works conducted at Two Forts Way.
