Service Detail Guide
This guide is intended to provide the general public and colleagues in other voluntary and statutory agencies information on the different services available from Thurrock CAB and how to access them.
General Advice
The bureau's nationally accredited volunteer advisers provide general advice that meets the membership and quality assurance standards of Citizens Advice and the Community Legal Service general help quality mark in the following subjects:

General advice is available on a drop-in basis at our main office; we do not have an appointment system for generalist advice.

(Closed on public holidays and between 24th December and 1st January) Monday mornings are particularly busy and best avoided, generally last client seen at 15.30.
General Advice - Outreach
The bureau offers all of the advice subjects above at venues around Thurrock, we are guests in these locations and we do not control access to them, always check the phone message on our advice line for the latest availability. Our thanks go to our colleagues for the use of their facilities. Last client seen 30 minutes before closing time.

General Advice - Outreach in Healthcare Settings
The bureau offers its general advice service to patients of GP surgeries in a partnership to help reduce health inequalities. All appointments are made through the surgeries own reception and we thank our colleagues in the health service for accommodating us.

Our telephone advice line will always give you the latest information on our opening times and outreach venues, it also provides over 60 advice messages on the general advice subjects as listed above. You can find the answer to most common problems and make a decision about whether you need to visit in person; there are also more helpful local and national phone numbers available to point you in the right direction.
