Annual Report 2006/2007:
Foreward by the Chair

Welcome to the charity's Annual Report for 2006/07, I hope that you will find the various statistics of interest and that you will learn of the work the bureau carries out in Thurrock.

A feature of this year's work is the improved and increased availability of statistical data that can be extrapolated from our case recording system, CASE. This year we are keen to demonstrate within the report the increasing complexity of the work carried out in Thurrock and the increasing complexity of the lives of our clients.

The Trustees recommend this report to you as it represents a significant increase in the activities of the charity and shows how the bureau is leading the way in its approach to working with partners both in the statutory and voluntary sector, in particular our further cooperation and relationship with the Legal Services Commission and Castle Point CAB. This new partnership has hopefully laid the foundations for future cross-boundary working to the benefit of more clients.

Finally, can I add my own personal thanks to the staff and volunteers, including the Trustee Board, for the hard work that they put into the bureau to ensure that the service continues to meet the advice needs of those living and working in Thurrock and the surrounding areas.

Barrie Lawrence
Chair, Trustee Board.
